Two of my favorite flavors come together in this White Chocolate Cinnamon Latte and it is a dreamy drink to begin a lazy morning when you have a little more time to simply relax. This is a stove-top recipe that is actually quite easy to make, it takes just around 5 minutes to mix up and the result is a rich, sweet latte that is worth every minute.
I prefer to make my espresso at home with a moka pot – it’s one less appliance to clutter my small space – and the timing of this latte is perfect for it. I prepare the moka pot and milk-chocolate saucepan, then begin heating the two at the same time. Each takes about 4 minutes and are ready to be poured simultaneously.
If you have an espresso machine, go ahead and pull a double shot in that, though you will still need to melt the chocolate and whip it with the milk in a saucepan because your machine’s milk steamer will not melt the chocolate chips as perfectly.
There is a trick to preparing foamed milk on the stove and here are a few tips to get you started. It takes some practice to get it how you want and your first drink may not be perfect. When the chocolate is added to this recipe, it will make it a little harder to get the ideal foamed milk because it is thicker, but once the chips are melted you can simply keep whisking very briskly (similar to beating eggs – fast and strong) to add more air to the milk mix.
Another option, if you have a milk steamer, is to melt the chocolate into the milk in a saucepan, then move over to the steam to get a great, frothy milk.
