The Ruby Snap is a perky soda drink that I created one afternoon while exploring and experimenting with the latest soda release from Q Drinks. My intention was to combine three of my favorite ingredients into a mix that was both full of flavor and unique and, much to my surprise, it came out perfectly on the first round.

Q Drinks produces sodas that are designed to be mixed rather than stand out on their own. If you love to mix up a great soda drink (with or without the alcohol), then this is a soda brand that you need to check out. Their latest release is Q Ginger Beer and it makes a fantastic Moscow Mule and Dark & Stormy – in reality, Q created the best of both cocktails that I’ve had in years, and I do love my ginger beer.

Bringing this new find into the mocktail world, I wanted to find a mix that would incorporate another brand that regularly adorns my drinks, Amoretti Premium Syrup.  My coffee counter is always stocked with a variety of their syrups and I’ve found them to be one of the best syrup brands for drinks of all varieties – coffee, tea, soda, and cocktails – and the flavor selection is vast and fun to explore. For this drink I chose amaretto and it works perfectly against the tart grapefruit and spicy ginger beer. If you like, you could substitute the syrup with amaretto liqueur.
